A job is a regular activity performed in exchange for payment, usually as one's occupation. A person usually begins a job by becoming an employee, volunteering, or starting a business. The duration of a job may range from an hour (in the case of odd jobs) to a lifetime (in the case of some judges). If a person is trained for a certain type of job, they may have a profession. The series of jobs a person holds in their life is their career.

Jobs for people

Most people spend a good portion of their waking time doing a regular job. Generally exceptions are if you are a student, disabled, or retired.

A. Sounds like pretty standard office management and clerical duties to me. If it is considered "entry level", you will get plenty of training for each task. If you have done office work before, at least 2/3 of these listed duties should sound familiar to you, and you could focus on learning the other ones specific to this work environment. If it sounds too hard, then you probably don't have the background or experience for it.

I am leaving my current job role but am unsure when I should be paid till.?
Q. I manage an ESF project but I am leaving the project tomorrow, Friday 13th June. I thought I would be able to close the project on Sunday and thought I should be paid until then as I thought salaried staff where paid seven days pay for every five they worked. (Monday to Sunday) I know I may be wrong about this but does anyone have any ideas about where I can go on the net to get some info to support my argument?

A. The confusion may be in your phrase "salaried staff were (sic) paid seven days for every five". It is not a weekday amount to be pro-rated as extra pay for Saturday and Sunday, If this were the case, it would actually controvert the corporate objective of exempt employment. The purpose of salary is to pay you less, not more. The benefit for you would be if you wrap up the job and leave before the end of your regular day. The salary would be the same, but your pay to work ratio, for this week only, would increase by 2.5% for each of the early hours. I believe you have already found the only Internet location which can offer any… [cont.]
